I have just overheard a 3rd year Eborian medical student speaking very authoritatively about scales required for pandemic and epidemic while an English student asked "What's an endemic then? Or is that not a word?" He followed this gem by declaring that the Bubonic Plague was caused by lack of basic hygeine and understanding of how plague was transferred. When further quizzed, he declared that plague was the result of rats swimming in drinking water which was then imbibed. There are times when I hope that cholera and consumption become fashionable once more...
