Normally, around this time of year, I make a gushing and effulgent post not necessarily concerning Yule but mostly due to it. But a few years ago, I booked myself up on them on my 20Six by making three on the 25th, because it snowed and it was horrifically magical and horrendously twee.

Still, I've got a new phone for the first time in seven years so any blogging muggers (bluggers?) shall now feel more fulfilled when they target me and not sniff at my meagre technology. My last phone inspired the moon missions. It was carved out of meteors. It was crank-operated and could only reach Thomas Edison. You could play music but inserting wax cylinders, so long as it was Edison reciting "Mary Had A Little Lamb".

In case you can't guess what type it is, have a segment of MSN...

The dog has gone to Tasmania now. We decided he is not good enough. He was not overly strong. He was an ordinary dog.

So would I. But I couldn't find one. So I got an iphone.

So, yes. In the face of financial difficulty and the increasing insignificance of every material item we hold dear, I hope everyone has a happy nosedive into possessive and extravagant displays of ludicrous and promiscuous over-spending. I know I have.

Oh cripes. Nearly 2009. Where HAS all the culture gone?
